About Yamunanagar 
This district was carved out from Ambala district on 1st November, 
1989. Yamunanagar district was earlier known as Abdullapur.

Location and Territories
This district is a part of Ambala division and is located in Shiwalik foothills and alluvial plains regions. The district is surrounded by Himachal Pradesh in the North, Uttar Pradesh in the East, Karnal district in the South, Kurukshetra district in the South-West and Ambala district in the South-East. Yamuna river is the important river of this district. 

YamunaNagar is Famous For 
Yamunanagar is famous for providing the country's finest timber to large industries. Saraswati sugar mill is located in the district which is the largest sugar mill of Asia continent. Jagadhri city of Yamunanagar is known as Brass City which is famous for its brass and stainless steel utensils. Paper manufacturing industry of the district is also famous in the state.
