About Faridabad District
Origin This district got its name after the city of Faridabad which was founded by
Sheikh Farid, the treasurer of Jahangir in 1607. Faridabad became the 12th district
of Haryana on 2nd August, 1979. It was carved out of Gurugram district.
Location and Territories
This district is a part of Faridabad division. It is surrounded
by Delhi in the North, Uttar Pradesh in the East, Palwal district in the South and
Gurugram in the West. Yamuna river is the important river of this district.
